Dave Hale was born in McCook, Nebraska in 1947 and grew up in Omaha. He did not play football in high school - he flunked the physical exam as a sophomore and was cut from the team as a thin 6'6" 205 lb senior. He decided to attend Ottawa University in Kansas and try out for the football squad.
He played all four years in football, as well as basketball and track. He majored in chemistry, got his teacher's certificate, and married Nori in 1969. He made all-conference in football, led the conference in rebounding in basketball, and won the National Championship in the discus, winning the NIAA meet with a toss of 171'5" - a school and conference record that stands to this day. Dave was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 12th round of the '69 draft. From there he went to training camp in July of 1969 and made the squad. Dave played for the Bears for 5 years.
Dave joined the insurance business partime in 1981 and fulltime in 1984. He then moved his family to Kansas in 1985 and started Hale Agency, marketing term life insurance and mutual funds. He started marketing annuities in 1997. When none of his clients lost money after 9/11/01, he decided to exclusively market equity-indexed annuities where "Heads, you win...Tails, you don't lose"
Dave accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at the age of 12, rededicated his life to the Lord at age 25, and has used public speaking as a venue to help others know the Lord. He knows there is a 1:1 chance of not surviving this life, so he is interested in helping anyone get to know Jesus as their Savior.
Dave and Nori have 5 children. As of February 2019, all of our children have graduated from college. Currently, there are 14 grandchildren with 2 of them in college and more arriving there shortly.
Dave enjoys jogging, playing the piano, and reading biographies.
