There are 5--the oldest, a few years from "to marry",
The youngest, 10 months, will prob be tall--should the Lord tarry. The two in the middle, ages 11 and 13, are sisses, Ella, also 11, has 3 brothers, already among the tall young misses. Unlike our 9 grandsons who are long, strong and hairy, These girls like to hear fables that include a pink fairy. It's fun to watch them talk and shop and pose, They have definite opinions of style--look at their clothes! The boys will find their way and stay away from foolishness, They have learned to work, be on a team, learn "toolishness" Girls love to visit, learn from Mom and Grandmoms the things of life, They know the value of family, can set a table with fork and knife. Never been a girl, know not of their thoughts and aspirations, This I know, these girls will push the borders of limitations. They have, and will travel, see what's out there to see, All live in the Midwest, far from the salt water sea. Say a prayer for your girls, while you're at it, for ours, The fairer sex enhances life for the better with colors and flowers. Beauty, skill, an agenda not always understandable to Big Papa, These girls, the stuff of dreams and planning in a young guy's nappa. Dave Hale Ottawa, Ks

AuthorDave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :) Archives
