Football is fun to watch--so much going on,
Some games are thrillers, others way too long. The planning is thorough, the planning precise, The plans don't include anyone being nice. The football season, we're now in the middle, The NY Giants used to have a QB named YA Tittle. I remember him sacked in the end zone, kneeling and bloody, He looked so alone, w/o his teammates, even a buddy. I like trick plays, the creativity they entail, They are fun to watch even if they fail. Indeed, what if that play had succeeded? When would that play be repeated? The competition is intense, whether college or pro, But it's not unexpected by those in the know. Whether a sweep to the right or a dive to the left, The coaches job is to best use his team's heft. Football is played by many folks, but most folks won't, The blocks are 2 kinds, the ones you see coming and those you don't. There are many people I'd like to see play the line, Watching them get smacked would suit me just fine. On a day I want to "hit" somebody— Dave Hale, Bears '69-'74 11/30/11 Ottawa, KS

AuthorDave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :) Archives
