Bear 100th

​A group of mature Bears gather for the Chicago Bear Reunion,
The 100th season gives reason for an uncommon Bear communion.
The mature Bears and the younger players will make for an evening mellow,
Really enjoyed the pre event directive, "Please refrain from wearing green and yellow."

It took a few secs for my aging football rocked brain to sort it out,
This Bear reunion is for former players, coaches, and fans the Bear colors to tout.
"Green and yellow" are reminiscent shades of the Packers--way up North,
As recognizable as those shades are, this evening blue and orange step forth.

How will it all turn out?  No one knows, but fun will be had,
For sure, if you show up in colors other than orange and blue, the results bad.
What will the takeaways be? Maybe a story from another player's view,
Of course, it's always scintillating to meet someone new.

But what you wear is important, that's the reason for uniforms,
Clouds and wind are what changes an otherwise nice day to one of storms.
You have to know who is on your team, who's on your side,
You probably won't win the game yourself--on others' laurels you'll ride.

So remember that first Friday night in June-- NO Green or Yellow,
Please comply or the McCaskeys might become less than mellow.
Or, worse yet, Singletary, Butkus and Urlacher might take it personal,
Your Friday night will become memorable, but it will be worse n all.
