Does location have any impact on my poems, these thoughts of mine?
Does environment affect your emotions, make an impression fine? Hearken back to a place, a feeling, not unlike a perfume ad, Positive memories make our souls happy, make it anything but sad. All my poems, so far, were written while I was in a familiar place, This one, penned where I've never been before--gives it a different face. Does it make a difference? When the mind is always free to roam, What new thoughts come to you when you are not close to home? Would your thoughts be altered when to a craggy peak you go? Would you think anew seated next to a salt-foamy archipelico? Have you ever seen or smelled a big city slum? I've visited Johannesburg, South Africa--some parts definitely are one. A prison, a concentration camp--places where body and soul get snuffed, Places where only those in charge get their egos puffed. Realize, right now, you need an uplift, a new location, Who knows what life-long memories (and friends) are on your next vacation? It needn't be a weeklong or longer extensive getaway, Sometimes just a few days from the grind will benefits pay. Perhaps when you get there and finally get relaxed, You'll agree you've been boxed in, your living less than maxed. To these thoughts I hope your attention would pay, Make this your best yet, Memorial Day. Tue, 22 May 2012

AuthorDave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :) Archives
