There are appts you look forward to and those that you dread,
There are appts you are prepared for and those over your head.
There are meetings in which you are the expert in residence,
Then there are those where your views are shared with hesitance.
Some go perfectly--they go off as planned,
Others try to do too much, the agenda needs to be canned.
Some go so well-why wasn't this scheduled months ago?
When the lights are all green and the good ideas flow.
Then there are those where the table needs cleaning,
The dishes need doing-nobody can be accused of preening.
There are appts where the room is clean but the people are sour,
They have plenty of this world's goods, but their outlook is dour.
Most are inside, but some-outside, overlooking a veranda of flowers,
None in a basement, but I remember several high in towers.
Most consist of just 2, you and I,
It's amazing how time can fly.
But some include 3 or even more,
Including some you would like to show the door.
What was the outcome of these meetings?--was it desirable?
Was the idea well received, did the client think it flyable?
Be bold, pick up the phone, make some plans now,
Amazing things turn up when a tractor powers a plow.
