Went to the noontime Ottawa University art show today,
The students' "art and crafts" were scattered about on display. Charcoals, weaving, sculpture, even an artist named Christian Starbuck, Is that his real name or is it to provide career luck? Many colors, some architecture, abstract presentations galore, There were ponderings, explanations on both wall and floor. Where does creativity come from for artists both short and tall? Creating something, then repeatedly explaining it--a feat not small. Expressions of color and emotion leaves the public wondering, It too is abstract watching the visitors perceiving and slowly wandering. The top prize for the exhibit went for a raven haired self portrait, The image of that young lady (or her twin) just this side of great. Her tall, volleyball, athlete friend was actually her young husband, He was there supporting her--"Just cuz, man". I suppose some artists are loners, working solitary, Perhaps there is more time and freedom to express, avoiding "to marry". There were several artists who employed poetry in their presentation, Perhaps I should throw some pottery, alongside word elation. Not sure what tomorrow's events include, I'll ask my wife, She wanted to go today to enrich her friends and my life. Dave Hale Ottawa, Ks

AuthorDave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :) Archives
