Why do we need to sleep?
Why can't longer hours we keep? I listen to my wife with her soft snore, And think these thoughts at half past four. I think of all the folks who work through the night, Doctors, nurses, the people who make transportation right. They have to sleep sometime and get their rest, Life has many exams that put us to the test. Be thankful for your bed--the place you recline, If you don't get your rest, you'll get out of line. When people misbehave, as they/we sometimes do, It's because the restoration of sleep away from them flew. The nest time you see someone upset, as mad as can be, They need more sleep so they can again laugh--tee-hee. Get your pillows, your pajamas and go to slumberland, Daniel Boone rested before and after he found the Gap, Cumberland. Lewis and Clark slept across the Dakotas in beds inside Mandans, Travelling with a bunch of men is exhausting, as they sought new lands. So, shut off the light and go back to bed, Now that these thoughts are out of your head. Dave Hale 11/16/11 (early morning) Ottawa, KS 620/245-5778 Zzzzz....

AuthorDave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :) Archives
