My wife wants to attend a recital today at 3 PM,
Some college senior will present his favorites, a hymn. Is it an instrument or voice, I know not, Suppose he will be somewhat nervous, stomach in a knot. Yes, but it is good to present, a melody to hum, Whether it is played or sung, a horn or drum. I'm am sure he will pick selections he learned long ago, Something he plays well, to enhance his show. I JUST FOUND OUT, this recital will showcase his trombone in glide, We just got to the concert-he's probably oiling his slide. The performance is starting, accompanied by a pianist and piano, Why a person would choose trombone, I do not know. I recognize the young man, he plays quite well His trombone metallic and shiny, the notes flowingly swell. This poem will also include us older folks, we seniors, We of long tooth and graying hair can also include mean years. This poem, although not sanctioned by the AARP, Will identify with us older folks, from youth we flee. We are giving a recital too, by the things we do and say, May God, your recital reviewist, be gracious when reviewing your play. Dave Hale Ottawa, Ks 11/11/2019 Happy Veteran's Day

AuthorDave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :) Archives
