​Strength

Is there something you can do and do it with ease?
Something which takes some effort, yet causes others to please?
For example, I can talk like Donald Duck, have done it for years,
Children say, "Talk like Donald"--it chases away their fears.
 
They hear this funny voice coming from a large man,
It catches them by surprise--there are many surprises in life's plan.
 
I have strengths--so do you, in this poem, I'll talk about two,
Physical strength is the first--when I was young, my feet flew!
Running, jumping, put me in the contest,
Others got tired first and wanted to rest.
 
Oh, I got challenged--there are others out there too,
There were Vikings and Packers who had strengths to show (and they knew)
That they had skill sets to display, things they were good in,
After a few hours, various strengths allowed someone to win.
 
But there is another strength I've been given and it too, comes from God,
Strength in the Lord is a virtue not everyone thinks is mod.
I believe when life is over, we'll have to give an account up above,
God will correctly judge us, don't "push the envelope" and test His love.
 
So on this side of the sweet by and by,
As the months and years away from us do fly.
Strengthen yourself in the Lord, open His text-Book,
Humble yourself before the One who into your soul will look.
 
God will strengthen you as precept upon precept you learn,
Did you know there are rewards in Heaven you can begin to earn?
II Cor. 5:10 the apostle Paul says God will judge all believers, too,
Get with the program and earn your Crown in the sky blue.
 
Think of your strengths and what needs to improve-you, Alice and Bill and Ronald,
Maybe if I see you in person, I'll read you these thoughts like the duck, Donald.
