The Final Roster
There's another team you want to be on,
Tryouts are still open; want you to know before they are gone.
There is a roster filled with names to be read at the final cut,
Find out your assignment before you hear your last hut-hut.
Most of my friends are older than young, they are hesitant to change,
After living for a few decades, they have lived in many homes on the range.
The Lord Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life",
I believe that and so does my wife.
He resurrected himself--no one ever did that before,
He made many claims--I could mention many more.
I believe we cannot earn our way into Heaven's realm,
Jesus wants to save your soul, but He must be at the helm.
The final roster has not yet been completed--it's still at the printer,
Don't waste another day--decide to follow the Lord before winter.
Remember the two thieves crucified with Christ at Calvary?
One, in his last moments, believed, and was swept away by God's cavalry.
That, however, is not your last task: to believe,
Another command the Lord has for you to receive.
Each of us are to tell others of our new found hope,
When a life has purpose, life is easier to cope.

Dave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :)
