Sitting in choir Sunday AM, sitting in the choir loft,
Sitting behind my wife, admiring her sweater soft, Pastor Joel began his children's sermon after they did sit, His simple words and not complicated logic with them, I easily get. Sometimes the children's sermons speak more to me than the adult, Confusing the listener is the 100% goal of any cult. But as I watched the children happily scurry up and settle down, The boy sitting to Pastor's right made me smile and not frown. This boy, who couldn't weigh much more than his 50 pounds, at least, Gave me much to ponder, the thoughts he gave were to me a feast. For as he sat, he opened and was leafing through an orange Gideon New Testament, The sight of him consulting his book was a blessing from Heaven sent. Where did he get his Testament? From whom did it come? There are many in this world w/o one who would pay an inflated sum. Did his mother or father (who were both there), Provide the book to their young son, so fair? Or did someone further away provide the gift? Which gives purpose to life, helps give meaning a lift. How about you? Do you have the Book to search and consult? Have you had access to one as a child and now as an adult? Do you sit close to the Pastor and thumb its pages? And receive peace from it while life around the world rages? THANKS, young boy for the witness you did give, If we follow your example, more inspired we'll live. Dave Hale Ottawa, Ks 2/7/12 2 days after being inspired... hale-agency.com
