Do you know anyone among the Privileged Few?
Those who live atop the condos, with a view? Their eyes are calm and steady, never frantic, All is well, as they check in first class aboard the Titanic. Life is planned and predictably serene, Their cars are expensive, polished and clean. They spend their lives keeping ahead, Avoiding obsolesence, they choose the "latest" instead. From baby strollers to ski racks, clothes with an attitude, Being on the "it" list insures a desired latitude. Moving up and staying there needs constant agreement, From spouses and family, who also might seek pleasement. A novel thought to those measuring their shot on the 18th tee, Why are you healthy? Why has God blessed thee? Perhaps He hasn't...maybe the extras have come from another, Maybe the one smiling on you really isn't your brother. Why were you born where every thirst is sated? Maybe you've risen above your entry point to a position elevated. Ne'er the less, now you're there, now you have arrived, You're at the spot where most would say, I, too, would have strived. Years ago, in Chicago, I spoke with Bob Artemenko, An IBMer, his office was on floor 25, veinte y cinco. After closing the door, his tale did he tell, He was worried because things were going too well. Here's to you all on this Valentine's Day, Seek God's blessing, then go work and play, There are those above you and there will always be the lower, Choose to run your path hard and fast and not slower. There'll be plenty of time to rest at the end, Type up your thoughts, edit, and then hit "send'. 2/14/12 Dave Hale Ottawa, Ks hale-agency.com 620/245-5778 Comments are closed.
