Ever had a peanut butter sandwich w/o the jelly?
Whether it's grape or strawberry, it's welcome in my belly.
Sure, the sandwich will nourish my body alone,
The jelly makes it taste better and slides down my throat to home.
It's a rough analogy, but my wife is outta town this week,
She is the jelly in my life, tasty and sweet.
I miss her flavor, the smell of her perfume,
I miss my heart skipping when she enters the room.
Her golden hair as she prepares a meal,
Not artificial food from a box..the real deal.
She always looks nice and tries not to offend,
If she transgresses, she is quick to seek a mend.
I am sure she will be effective in her work,
She's a woman of detail, minutiae she does not shirk.
She does call reports to detail what was said and whom,
When she walks in, well, a sonic boom.
Yes, in my opinion, she an "it' girl,
Life is full of rocks, she's my pearl.
Who is it you love? Do not want to be without?
As soon as she's back home, I'll stop my pout.

Dave likes to put together words to make poems. Sometimes the rhythms are great and sometimes they are a stretch. Either way they will make you think, make you laugh, make you wonder what's going on with Dave. :)
